Call to Preserve Parental Rights

Colorado Senate Bill 130 (SB130) will likely be up for second reading this Friday, March 16, but your calls are having an effect. If you haven't already done so, please contact your state senator and ask him or her to oppose this bill.

SB130 would create a new Office of Early Childhood and Youth Development within Colorado's Department of Human Services, increasing government control over your children and how you raise them. Additionally, this restructuring of early childhood services is often a precursor to expanding compulsory school attendance ages, and to increasing government control over children prior to school enrollment.

Please take a moment to call your Colorado senator and urge them to oppose SB130.

You can find your senator’s name and contact information using HSLDA's page here. (Just type in your ZIP code and then click on your senator’s name under “Colorado state government.”) Or you can look up your senator on Colorado's Senate directory page.

In your own words, please urge your senator to oppose SB130. You might tell them you oppose increasing government control over families, and that you believe parents - and not government - are in the best position to make decisions for their children. You can also tell them that you oppose increasing the power of the Department of Human Services in areas of early child development, child health, child mental health, early childhood education, and parent education and training.

Despite its appearance as a simple restructuring bill, SB130 will pave the way for greater government control over your children and toddlers. Please stand with us to stop the progression before it starts, by halting SB130 on Friday.

Canaries of California, Oregon, Washington and Nevada, come to our Western Regional Conference

Come be a part of history as we launch the most ambitious effort yet aimed at restoring health freedom and scientific integrity across America.

We know we are making an impact because the push-back is stronger than ever. Consumers’ rights to choose or refuse what goes into their bodies, whether it be food or medicine, continues to erode. California’s unprecedented usurpation of parental rights by allowing youth as young as 12 to be vaccinated without parental knowledge or consent threatens to march across the nation. Practitioners providing families with alternatives to unsafe, unproven medical practices are being attacked in the courts and vilified in the media. This all-out assault, putting profits ahead of health won’t stop unlesswe take action.

To attend the Canary Party Western Regional Meeting, February 10-12, 2012, at the Hyatt Place Roseville/Sacramento. Come meet other like-minded individuals to forge connections and work together to develop strategies for change in your state and nationally. Our Western Regional includes California, Oregon, Washington and Nevada. Members from other states are always welcome.

We will also be discussing the recently passed California law allowing children as young as 12 to be vaccinated with the HPV and Hepatitis B vaccines with out parental knowledge or consent.

Friday, Feb. 10, Reception and Film Night

8:30pm The Greater Good looks behind the fear, hype and politics that have polarized the vaccine debate in America today. The film re-frames the emotionally charged issue and offers, for the first time, the opportunity for a rational and scientific discussion on how to create a safer and more effective vaccine program.

Mark Blaxill, Chairman, will report on Party principles developed at the first annual Canary Party Convention held in July, 2011, in Minneapolis, followed by presentations and break-out groups to develop initiatives and state/national strategies.

Participants to offer their input on how to best move forward in their respective states.

Is there a guest book I can view, showing who's attending/speaking?
If I'm able to attend, it will be the Sat. Meeting only. How much would that cost?
